The pupil premium is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and children who are looked after for more than six months (LAC). In addition, Pupil Premium is allocated for children of families who are currently serving in the armed forces.

The Pupil Premium is a grant provided from central government, through local government, direct to schools. This week the school has had an External Pupil Premium Review. The areas of strength identified from the day were that the main priorities for Pupil premium investments are identified well and supported by key staff, resources, research and strategies to improve attendance, develop better speech, support Special Educational Needs and supporting the emotional wellbeing of our pupils. Provision such as breakfast club, our attendance officer, Learning Mentor, new policies and rewards system, is having a positive impact on attendance – in particular those entitled to Pupil Premium funding. Our next steps from the review is to ensure that further parents with pupils in Foundation Stage are applying for this funding .We will also be developing Governors and middle leaders to become more involved in measuring the impact and planning for future priorities. We will continue to focus on closing gaps between school and national data for progress and attainment too.
