Welcome to Highfield Farm Primary School
Together we will
I feel privileged to be the Head teacher of Highfield Farm Primary School, a continuously changing and improving school, where our dedicated and enthusiastic staff are committed to providing every child with the very best opportunities and an education of the highest possible standard.
At Highfield Farm Primary we value the contribution every child brings to our school, making it a happy, friendly, calm and purposeful place to learn and work. Our school has a positive reputation for embracing and celebrating every kind of achievement and this is reflected in our commitment to inclusion and unity.
As a school, our motto is ‘Together we will’ and this underpins all we do at Highfield Farm Primary. Learning is our core purpose and we provide a safe and caring school environment where everyone is encouraged to:
- Be kind
- Show respect
- Keep trying
At Highfield Farm Primary School relationships and attitudes are positive and an ethos exists in which learning together becomes an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all. We welcome parents as partners so that, together, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to be the best that they can be.
I hope that our website provides you with a flavour of what we have to offer you and your child. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to come and visit us to find out more. Appointments can be made through the school office.

About our school
Highfield Farm Primary School, which opened in 1973, is situated in a residential part of Rotherham close to Wath-Upon-Dearne. It became a part of the James Montgomery Academy Trust in January 2023, when it also changed its name from ‘West Melton Primary School’.
Our children are accommodated in a single storey building with five classrooms, a large hall, dining area and a multi-purpose meeting room. We also have our own kitchens, where school meals are cooked, onsite Nursery provision and grounds that surround the building on three sides.
Visits to our school
We encourage prospective parents to visit our school. If you would like to arrange a visit to look around and see the school at work, please contact Miss Thompson in the school office to make an appointment.
If you require any further information about our school then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
