West Melton is extremely busy raising funds as part of the ‘Cash for kids school challenge project’ run by Hallam FM. So far we have run a smarties competition where the children were challenged to see how many smarties tubes they could fill with money. We gave a gift card to the child who raised the most money and also to the child who filled the most tubes.
On Monday 11th November we have been bag packing at Tesco, thanks to Suzanne the community support worker who has supported us with this, we have completed a successful sponsored bounce at DEX in Wath, with many thanks going to Hilary Royston and all the staff team. It has been described by the children as ‘the best day ever!’ We have many more exciting and upcoming events such as stalls at the Montgomery Hall Christmas Fayre (Friday 15th November), a staff sponsored ride to London finished off with a row down the Thames (within the school hall- Monday 18th November) and many more.
Amazingly, Capita are also kindly supporting our cause and having their own Christmas market and more in order to support us to raise further funds.
Many thanks also to all the parents and the local community for all their kindness, support and donations. We are a small school in a deprived area, so all the funding generated will ensure our children have a variety of learning resources and opportunities. This money will be a fantastic help to achieve our school vision and providing the absolute best for our amazing children.
