Class 3 – Mr Walker

Welcome to Class 3!

Hello, I am Mr Walker and myself and Mrs Wattam can’t wait to continue our learning journey this year in Year 3. We will be working a lot on our perseverance and resilience skills in able to solve some of the trickier learning we will be coming across in year 3.

PE days are Monday and Thursday and children will need their PE kits for these days.

Please make sure the children bring their organisers every day to school as I will be putting some important information in them eg spellings and how they are getting on with their reading. We also want to celebrate all of the home learning the children are doing as well.

This year we will be learning French as our language. Bonjour la class!

You are welcome to come and see me at the start or end of the school day to talk about any questions you may have.

Here is to a successful and fun time in Year 3 for your children. I cannot wait to see what they will achieve next!

What are we learning? – Autumn 1 Term 2018/19

We have kick started our maths learning by finding out about what we know about place value.  Great team work and discussion Class 3!

We have also kick started our topic of West Melton – a local adventure by finding out about the countryside.

In Geography we looked at different features of the countryside and used our Pie Corbett text of The Three Billy Goats Gruff to help us and created some marvellous art work of the countryside surrounding West Melton.

We have kick started our PE work across school. Part of this includes our daily mile on the school field where all children and staff strive to keep fit and run a mile each day. We are all getting fitter by the day! Some Y3 children are developing their leadership skills in PE and working as part of a team when developing their own games and rules.
